The Red Stick Ramblers
in Breaux Bridge, 2002

High resolution photos of the Red Stick Ramblers are now posted on Flickr.

Check out the band's official web site or go to the band's MySpace page,
The Red Stick Ramblers are shown on this page performing at the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival May 5, 2002. It was a very warm and windy late spring day, with the noonday sun beaming down as the band took the stage. Linzay Young, the band's lead vocalist, complained about the heat in both French and English, but the temperature didn't seem to affect the band's performance, which was as hot and breezy as the weather.

In addition to the Breaux Bridge festival, The Red Stick Ramblers were busy during spring 2002 performing at other major festivals in Lafayette, New Orleans, Fort Lauderdale, and elsewhere.  During the summer, they headed overseas, where they played at Les Deferlantes Francophones, a festival in the Brittany region of France. They performed at an opening reception Aug. 21 and on the main stage Aug. 24.

Shown at top right is Joel Savoy. The next photos (at right and below) show Linzay Young, who plays twin fiddle with Savoy and is the band's main vocalist. Josh Caffery is shown on mandolin, and Chas Justus is on guitar. The other individual photos show Ricky Rees on bass and Glenn Fields on drums. The bottom photo of the entire band also includes Terry Huval of The Jambalaya Cajun Band at far left, who played steel guitar on a couple of numbers, and Richard Burgess, third from left, who frequently plays guitar with the band at performances in the Lafayette area.
