Geno was a little late getting
started because band members were delayed on their
way to Chicot, but once they took the stage the
dance floor quickly filled. No one can sit still
when Geno is playing his own unique version of
Zydeco that draws deeply on Creole traditions and
also includes his interpretation of a few Cajun and
swamp pop standards.
Eric Fahey, shown in the the yellow shirt, asked all
of the members of the Balfa family who were there
Monday night to help out with the event to come on
stage to be recognized.
